Kansas City hosts the North American or global headquarters of 40+ global leaders in the animal health industry, including: Bayer HealthCare Animal Health, Fort Dodge Animal Health, Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Hill’s Pet Nutrition, intervet /Schering-Plough, CEVA/Biomune and many others. This list represents 5 of the 10 largest global animal health companies, 2 of the 5 largest pet food companies and the world's largest animal health generics manufacturer.

Kansas City is at the center of the cattle industry as Kansas is 2nd and Missouri is 7th in cattle and calves inventory in the U.S. Within 350 miles of the KC Corridor, there is more than 45% of the fed cattle in the US, more than 40% of US hogs, and 20% of US beef cows and calves.

Innovative Incentives at the State Level

The state of Kansas recently approved the Kansas Economic Growth Act, which established the Kansas Biosciences Authority that will generate over $580 million in revenue for the development of the biosciences industry over the next 15 years.

The state of Missouri recently approved the Missouri Quality Jobs Act that provides a new incentive program for the creation of high-skilled jobs by offering companies quarterly cash pryments of up to five precent of new taxable payroll based upon their new payroll investment.
